FAU Foundation Board Elects Randy Justice as Chair

Eight New Members Join Board

BOCA RATON, FL (May 26, 2011) – The Florida Atlantic University Foundation Board recently held its annual meeting and election of officers. Randy Justice was elected as the Board’s new chair, taking over for Michael Kaufman, who has served as chair since 2009. Continuing their service as members of the Foundation Board’s executive committee are secretary Cecelia James and former treasurer Bruce Allen ’71, who is now vice chair. Former chair David Gury rejoins the executive committee as treasurer.

Randy Justice ’73 joined the Foundation Board in 2008 and previously served as vice chair. He earned an undergraduate degree in accounting from FAU and is a retired partner with Ernst & Young. Justice is a past president of the FAU National Alumni Association and a member of FAU’s Parliament of OWLs. He was named outstanding alumnus from the College of Business in 1993 and received the 1999 Alumni Talon Award.

“I am honored to serve as FAU’s Foundation Board chair,” said Justice. “As we celebrate the University’s 50th anniversary, I look forward to working with my fellow board members to advance the mission of the Foundation and continue to pave the way for a bright future for FAU.”

The board also welcomes eight new members, noted for their civic service and professional accomplishments.

Allen McGee is chairman and CEO of Radiology Corporation of America. He serves on the advisory board for FAU’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Science and the Board of Trustees for Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. McGee also serves on the Board of Directors for Paradise Bank of Boca Raton and the finance committee for St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church of Boca Raton.

Christopher Fluehr is a certified financial planner (CFP®), financial advisor and senior vice president with Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC. He is active with the March of Dimes and Friends of Newman, and is a lector for St. Joan of Arc Church in Boca Raton. Fluehr also helped underwrite the FAU English department’s 2010 and 2011 Literary Authors Series.

Daniel Cane is president and CEO of Modernizing Medicine, Inc. He is a co-founder and a former board member for Blackboard, Inc. and serves as vice chair of the South Florida Science Museum Board of Trustees. Cane also serves on the advisory board for FAU’s College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Edward Sabin is chief financial officer for Biomet 3i and serves on the FAU President’s Council. He is a board member for Scripps Florida Funding Corporation and the Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, treasurer of Workforce Alliance of Palm Beach County and a member of the Village of Tequesta Public Safety Pension Board of Trustees. Sabin also is past chair for the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County and the Northern Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Neil Schiller is an attorney and shareholder in the government law and lobbying practice group with the law firm of Becker & Poliakoff. He focuses on local land use and development law as well as local, state and federal lobbying for his clients. Schiller was formerly a member of the Boca Raton Planning and Zoning Board and is an active member of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce.

Stephen Constantine ’82 is senior vice president of investments for Merrill Lynch. He serves as president of the St. Andrew’s School Sports Parent Organization Booster Club and co-chair of the Horses and the Handicapped Annual Hoe Down fundraiser. Constantine also supports the FAU Center for Autism & Related Disabilities and is a premier club seat holder for FAU’s new stadium.

Raymond Monteleone MBA ’92 is chairman and president of Paladin Global Partners, LLC. He has served as a board member for a number of organizations, including Mobilesonics, Inc.; Loren Industries; Rexall-Sundown; Pointe Financial Corporation (Pointe Bank) and First American Railways, Inc. Monteleone currently chairs the advisory board for Algy Costumes; serves as a key advisor for Laser Spine Institute, LLC and is a partner of Dannelly, Monteleone & Associates. Previously, he was a partner of Arthur Young & Company, a senior officer with Sensormatic Electronics Corporation, and deputy commissioner and chief operating officer of the Florida Department of Education.

Gary Lesser is managing partner for Lesser, Lesser, Landy & Smith, PLLC and serves on the Florida Bar Board of Governors. He also serves on the Economic Council of Palm Beach, as a board member for the American Cancer Society and vice president of the Meyer Jewish Academy. Lesser also is active with the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, having held a number of offices and currently serves as a vice president on its executive committee.
