FAU Team Wins Second Place in Second Annual ACG Cup

BOCA RATON, FL (April 14, 2010) – A graduate management business administration team of students from Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business recently placed second in the second annual ACG Cup, sponsored by the South Florida chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).  FAU competed against teams from the University of Miami, the University of Florida and Florida International University to take the second prize, which was a one-year ACG membership for each FAU team member.

FAU students Donna DelRosso, Rob Hawkins and Andrew Rolf represented FAU in the case study competition designed to give students from leading MBA programs throughout the country real world experience and invaluable insights into mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate strategies, investment banking, financial advisory and private equity. The FAU team, sponsored by Greg S. Heller, ACG steering committee member and managing director of Silverglade Capital Partners, presented valuation, capital markets and M&A strategic advice to a panel of seasoned M&A professionals from within the ACG community.

ACG is a global organization that assists its members in developing and implementing strategies for business growth and development. For more than 50 years, ACG members have focused on strategic activities that increase revenues, profits and, ultimately, stakeholder value.  Today, ACG stands at more than 12,000 members from corporations, private equity, finance and professional services firms representing Fortune 1000, FTSE 100 and mid-market companies in 53 chapters in North America and Europe.

The South Florida chapter of ACG has experienced significant growth in recent years and has about 150 members in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties.
