FAU Lecture Addresses the Future of Conservatism

BOCA RATON, FL (April 9, 2009) – Florida Atlantic University’s Jack Miller Forum presents the lecture “The Future of Conservatism,” with James Ceasar of the University of Virginia. The lecture will take place on Friday, April 17 at 1 p.m. in the Majestic Palm Room of the Student Union on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. It is free and open to the public. (Please stop to get a parking pass at the information booth on Glades Road.)

The lecture will discuss the different forms of conservatism in America and assess the prospects for each form. Ceasar will also look at the conservative movement as a whole in light of the political situation presented by the new administration.

Ceasar is professor of politics at the University of Virginia and a fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. He is also the chairman of the Jack Miller Center’s Academic Advisory Council.

The Jack Miller Forum, which is organized by the department of political science in FAU’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, is a three-year initiative funded by the Jack Miller Center for Teaching America’s Founding Principles and History.   The Miller Center provides a wide variety of resources to its partner faculty who are working to strengthen the teaching of America’s founding principles and history on college campuses across the United States.  For more information about the Jack Miller Forum at FAU, call 561-297-3212 or visit
