Join the Friends of Harbor Branch Membership Program

Thu Aug 7  Learn About the Spoil Island Preservation Program. Billy Gibson, naturalist and river guide, presents a talk on challenges of removing invasive vegetation on the islands. 10 a.m. at the Ocean Discovery Center. Free admission, all ages.

Tues Aug 12  Motorized Kayak Adventure. Depart from Stan Blum Memorial Boat Ramp on North Causeway Blvd at 8:30 a.m., return by 11:30 a.m. $35/members, $45/nonmembers. For info and reservations, call 772-242-2559. All ages.

Sat Aug 16  Bioluminiscent Kayak Tour. Depart from Cracker Barrel in Vero Beach at 4:30 p.m. and carpool to Titusville, enjoy dinner at Dixie Crossroads (not included in trip cost) at 5:45 p.m. then to launch site and tour begins at 8 p.m., return to Vero around midnight. $45/members, $50/nonmembers. For info and reservations, call 772-242-2559.

Sat Sept 27  Indian River Lagoon Science Festival. Celebrate all that makes science FUN at the inaugural IRL Science Fest, featuring hands-on exhibits from organizations across the Treasure Coast including: FAU Harbor Branch, Smithsonian Marine Station, UF IFAS and the USDA. 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.,  Museum Pointe Park, South Hutchinson Island, Fort Pierce. Admission is FREE.
