Intellectual Property 101: The Legal Side of Entrepreneurship

Gregory Nelson, Partner and Patent Prosecution Practice Co-Chair, Novak Druce Connolly Bove + Quigg LLP, will lead a discussion on how science, computer programs, medical devices and basic creative ideas become marketable products through the U.S. legal system. He will answer such questions as: how do copyrights differ from patents? How much does it cost and how long does it take to create marketable intellectual property? Get Your Master's Degree in One Year
Take graduate courses in your senior year for both your bachelor's and master's degrees. The Graduate College hosts monthly information sessions. Information sessions are one-hour long presentations that inform prospective graduate students about Florida Atlantic University’s graduate admissions process. Information sessions are held from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Sessions are held in the Undergraduate Admissions Theatre (Student Support Services Building, room 125) at the Boca Raton campus. The Graduate College, in partnership with the Division of Research, offers a series of workshops each fall and spring semester on the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) for all currently-enrolled graduate students at FAU. The workshops are led by FAU faculty and cover the nine instructional areas of RCR. RCR is a mandatory course for all students working on NSF or NIH-funded programs.
