Expanding Asian Studies at Florida Atlantic University

Expanding Asian Studies at Florida Atlantic University

FAU received a grant from the U.S. Department of Education to build up Asian Studies at FAU for two years, 2010-2012. Asian Studies at FAU includes East Asia, South Asia and West Asia, or the Middle East.   Grant funds supported faculty grants to prepare new curricular offerings in Asian Studies, add more Chinese language courses and begin an Arabic language program, and develop faculty expertise in Asian Studies.   A final third year of the grant in 2012-2013 will use carryover funding to support Chinese language instruction and certificate enhancement activities.
