Studies Program offers qualified full-time graduate students the
opportunity to earn valuable teaching experience and professional
pedagogical development through Graduate Teaching Assistantships.
These competitive awards provide students with full tuition
scholarships, a living stipend of $8,000.00, and an intensive
training program for teaching French as a second language at the
given the opportunity to teach a language class each semester
with the full support of our French pedagogy specialists. In
addition to taking a focused Teaching Practicum in the first
semester, GTAs are given frequent feedback on their teaching, and
become an important part of the French Program teaching team.

scholarship should indicate so in the Statement of Purpose essay
that accompanies the graduate application, and must take the
Advanced Competency Exam in French as soon as

In order to
receive and maintain this academic award, students must maintain
full-time student status (= 9 credits per semester).
All full-time students, including international students, are eligible to
apply for this award.
