Florida Atlantic University's Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) racing team recently placed in the top 25 of universities in attendance at the 2015 Formula SAE Michigan competition in Brooklyn, Mich. Out of 118 universities from around the world, FAU finished 24th overall, beating schools such as Duke, Cornell, Columbia, Penn State, Northwestern and Purdue universities.

In a new study published in the current issue of the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, researchers in the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science at Florida Atlantic University and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in Germany measured the effects of situations on human behavior in real-time and outside of a laboratory setting in one of the largest studies to employ experience sampling methods.

Florida Atlantic University has appointed Carol Hixson as the new dean of university libraries, effective Tuesday, Aug.11. Hixson will be charged with directing all functions and services of the libraries across the University's multiple campuses. She also will be responsible for promoting and articulating a learning environment that encourages scholarship and ensures the continued use of emerging technological advances to enhance library services and resources.

The event took place in the Martin F. and Jane Greenberg Foundation Tower of FAU Stadium, Boca Raton campus. Proceeds will benefit the Kelly Family Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships for students with demonstrated financial need.
