Office of Health and Wellness Education
What We Do
The college experience is a time to learn a wealth of information, experiment and try new things, build friendships, search for career options and develop necessary skills for a successful and happy life. A bright future includes making responsible healthy choices.
The office provides support and resource information for FAU students. Additionally, ongoing programs are offered free of charge with a monthly calendar of workshops and fun events listed on this website or available at the reception desk. The office is located in SS8-Room 222 (over the breezeway cafeteria) and the regular hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The Peer Education Team (P.E.T.) provides the momentum for the wellness services provided by the department by assisting with programming on health issues such as Sexually Transmitted Infections and HIV/AIDS, stress management, alcohol and other drugs, healthy eating, fitness and women's and men's health. In addition, the office and P.E.T. host a range of campus events centered around wellness themes including the Wellness Expo, the Movember Gala, Sexual Responsibility Week and Condom Olympics, Safer Spring Break and more!
Free condoms are always available in room SS8-222. Free wellness guest lectures, presentations, workshops, and health awareness activities are available by the Office of Health and Wellness Education staff and peer educators. Please refer to our calendar for upcoming events.
The office provides assistance with referrals to campus and community resources. A Health Educator is available to confidentially discuss your health concerns. Please call or come by the office to make an appointment.
Free, confidential HIV Testing is available two to three times a month on Thursdays in room 222.
