Linda Johnson M.F.A. is an Associate Dean of the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters at Florida Atlantic University. She is part of an administrative team that manages a college with over 4000 majors. Her responsibilities include enrollment management, scheduling, faculty annual assignment and evaluation reviews, college technology and partner campus operations. In addition, she oversees the College’s dedicated facilities that includes: a 500 seat concert hall, two black box theatres, a four movie theater complex, two galleries, recording studios, digital fabrication lab, multimedia labs and numerous dedicated technology-enhanced classrooms on two campuses.

In her 20 years of service at Florida Atlantic University she has served in leadership positions including Associate Dean, Chair of the Department of Visual Arts and Art History, Director of Jewish Studies, and Graduate Program Coordinator. She also serves on several University committees and advisory councils, and was part of a University committee that introduced and implemented a new scheduling model to accommodate different course delivery modalities and to better serve students.

Professor Linda Johnson is an accomplished artist and designer who specializes in limited edition book design. She has received several awards including the National Museum for Women in the Arts: Book Artist Fellowship, the Florida Artists' Book Prize and a New York Art Directors Book Design Award. Her work has been exhibited internationally and resides in numerous public and private collections including Tate Britain, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, New York Public Library, Harvard, Yale, UCLA, and the Sackner Archives of Concrete and Visual Poetry. She received her BFA in Graphic Communication from the University of Houston and her M.F.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University in Visual Communication Design. Before joining FAU in 1997, she owned and managed a design studio in Houston, Texas.
