The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS®) is a multiple-choice assessment of basic academic knowledge in reading, mathematics, science and English and language usage. The objectives assessed on the TEAS exam are those which nurse educators deemed most appropriate and relevant to measure entry level skills and abilities of nursing program applicants.

Registration Information

Please read all information thoroughly to ensure you register for the proper program. 
  • Cost
    Administration Fee: $28.50, and an Exam Fee: $55.
  • Be aware that there are TWO Payments for this test and you must create a TEAS user name/password. The administrative fee is $28.50.  All fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and test date may not be rescheduled. The second payment of $55 will be paid at the test center on test day by credit card ONLY.
  • Once this fee is paid, you will receive a confirmation email from PREPBLAST confirming your chosen appointment time and date.

  • For those students taking TEAS to apply for the FAU Nursing Program, the test can be taken once every 30 days.  The caution is that only the most recent test score will apply to the admission decision, not the highest test score.  So, if you have a high score and repeat the test getting a lower score on the second test, it is the second score that would apply to the admission decision.

  • If you are taking the TEAS for another institution, please contact them regarding their retake policy. 
    This is in addition to the user name/password previously created to schedule your appointment with PrepBlast. The ATI user name/password will be used at the testing center to launch your exam. To begin this process CLICK HERE

  • **Please note: If you are applying to Florida Atlantic University, it will be listed as "FL Atlantic U "under Institution name when creating your Profile.**
  • All testing fees are non-refundable, non-transferable and the test may not be rescheduled.

  • Exam can be taken at the Boca Raton campus or the Davie campus by clicking the appropriate link.

Test Center Regulation

Examinee are required to be professional, civil and respectful at all time n the premises of the Test Center. All exams are continuously monitored by video and audio recording, physical walk-through, and through the observation window. The Test Center Staff is authorized to dismiss you from the test session for violation of any Test Center Regulation, including exhibiting abusive behavior towards the Test Center Staff or other examinees. There will be a brief security check upon entry to the test room.

What to Bring

  • A non-expired Government issued photo ID is required and must be presented prior to testing. **Your photo ID must be a valid photo ID matching exactly the name you used when registering. NO EXCEPTIONS**.  All ID's must include a current photograph, examinee's signature and a  permanent address

  • Bring your email receipt sent to you by Prepblast and your username/password created with ATI Testing. YOU MUST CREATE A USERNAME AND PASSWORD THROUGH ATI TESTING PRIOR TO YOUR TEST DATE IF YOU FAIL TO DO SO, YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO TEST - (see Registration Information above)

  • The exam fee is due on the day of your scheduled exam. The fee is payable by CREDIT CARD ONLY. **NO CASH, NO CHECKS, NO MONEY ORDERS**

  • You must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your testing time. Please be prompt. No late arrivals will be admitted.

From I-95 take exit #45, which is also known as Glades Road.
From Florida Turnpike take exit #75, which is also known as Glades Road.

Go east, towards the ocean, on Glades Road and make a left on 1st FAU entrance (West Universtiy Drive). Once on campus turn right onto Indian river Street then turn left onto Dade Avenue. Metered Visitor parking(Lot 18) is on the left; located on the south end of the student support services building (also known as SU 80). If you do not have an FAU parking decal you must park in the visitor's parking lot. All visitors must pay to park at FAU. On the Davie Campus if you do not have a decal test takers can purchase a day pass for $2 from the Owl card center in SD 201. They need a cash or a check for the amount. They also need their tag number and year of the car. The center is open on Mon and Thurs 8:30-7, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30-4:30, Friday 8:30-3:30. They are closed everyday from 1-2 for lunch. The FAU Testing Center willingly provides special test accommodations for all candidates who qualify for non-standard test administrations. Please send all documentation to FAU Testing Center no later than two weeks prior to your test date. You can fax your documentation to (561) 297-0170 or drop it off at our office in the Student Support Service Building, SU 80 Room 210.

Documentation of your accommodations must :

  • be current- i.e., completed within the past few years for disabilities not of a permanent or unchanging nature.
  • describe the specific accommodations requested
  • adequately support each of the requested testing accommodation(s)
  • be typed or printed on official letterhead and be signed by an evaluator qualified to make the diagnosis.
