DSST

It's Your Life, Take Credit for It. The DSST (formerly DANTES) credit by exam program gives students the opportunity to receive college credit for life experience as a form of prior learning assessment. Recommended for credit by the American Council on Education, the 38 exams are offered in diverse subject areas such as health, ethics, finance and technology. The DSST program is owned by Prometric, the global leader in testing and assessment, and has been placing students on the fast track to college degrees since 1974.  

Registration Information

  • Cost
    $33.50 - Test Administration Fee
    $80 - Exam Fee payable on test day by Mastercard, Visa, American Express only
    All testing fees are non-refundable, non-transferable and the test may not be rescheduled.
  • You must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your testing time. Please be prompt. No late arrivals will be admitted.
  • You can only register for one test at a time. If you need more than one DSST exam, you must register for different day/time slots. Multiple tests can not be accommodated at the same time.
  • If you are taking DSST PRINICIPLES OF PUBLIC SPEAKING, please contact the testing office, AT 561-297-3160, for more information concerning registration. DSST PRINCIPLES OF PUBLIC SPEAKING is ONLY offered at the Boca Raton campus only.

What to Bring 

  • A non-expired Government issued photo ID is required and must be presented prior to testing. Your photo ID must be a valid photo ID, contain a signature and match exactly the name you used when registering. NO EXCEPTIONS.   Listed below are the only acceptable forms of photo identification :
    • State-issued driver's license
    • State-issued ID card
    • Passport
    • Military ID card
  • YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO KNOW THE TEST SCORE RECIPIENT (4-DIGIT) CODE PRIOR TO TEST DAY.  For more information go to: www.GetCollegeCredit.com
  • Bring your email receipt sent to you by Prepblast.
  • The exam fee is due on the day of your scheduled exam. The fee is payable by CREDIT CARD  ONLY (Mastercard, Visa, American Express). DEBIT CARDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED

Directions/Parking

From I-95 take exit #45, which is also known as Glades Road.
From Florida Turnpike take exit #75, which is also known as Glades Road.

Go east, towards the ocean, on Glades Road and make a left on 1st FAU entrance (Broward Avenue). Once on campus turn right onto Indian river Street then turn left onto Dade Avenue. Visitor parking is on the left; located on the south end of the student support services building (also known as SU 80). If you do not have an FAU parking decal you must park in the visitor's parking lot. All visitors must pay to park at FAU. The price is $1.00 per hour or $10.00 a day, you can pay with cash or credit card. Site Address: 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton FL 33431 Building Student Support Services SU 80 suite 210. If you do not have an FAU parking decal you must park in the visitor's parking lot.

On the Davie Campus if you do not have a decal test takers can purchase a day pass for $2 from the Owl card center in SD 201. They need a cash or a check for the amount. They also need their tag number and year of the car. The center is open on Mon and Thurs 8:30-7, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30-4:30, Friday 8:30-3:30. They are closed everyday from 1-2 for lunch. Accommodations

The FAU Testing Center willingly provides special test accommodations for all candidates who qualify for non-standard test administrations. Please send all documentation to FAU Testing Center no later than two weeks prior to your test date. You can fax your documentation to (561) 297-0170 or drop it off at our office in the Student Support Service Building, SU 80 Room 210.

Documentation of your accommodations must :

  • be current- i.e., completed within the past few years for disabilities not of a permanent or unchanging nature.
  • describe the specific accommodations requested
  • adequately support each of the requested testing accommodation(s)
  • be typed or printed on official letterhead and be signed by an evaluator qualified to make the diagnosis.
