CLEP

FAU undergraduate students may earn credits from CLEP examinations provided they have not received comparable college credits in the CLEP examination area or have not completed a more advanced course in which the accumulation of knowledge or skills in the examination is essential. For FAU course equivalents please check the FAU Undergraduate catalog for approved credits for FAU students prior to test registration.   • Military-Funded CLEP Exams
    CLEP exams are free to eligible military personnel and eligible civilian employees. Military veterans can seek reimbursement from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for CLEP exams and fees. For more information, visit the CLEP for Veterans page.
  • Test Preparation
    A CLEP official study guide can be purchased at any major retail book store or you can order it at and find additional free study resources at clep.collegeboard.org

Registration Information

  • There are two fees associated with this test, a test administration fee of $33.50, and an exam fee of $80.
  • You must create an account with the College Board to pay the $80 testing fee prior to scheduling your exam. Both fees must be paid before arriving to the test center. The name you register with MUST match EXACTLY to the government issued ID that will be presented on test day.
  • You can only register for one test at a time. If you need more than one CLEP exam, you must register for different day/time slots. Multiple tests can not be accommodated at the same time.
  • Scores post in approximately 2-3 weeks.
  • All testing fees are non-refundable, non-transferable and the test may not be rescheduled.

 

What to Bring

  • You must bring one form of identification. It must be a government-issued, valid photo ID with signature, matching exactly the name you used when registering. NO EXCEPTIONS.  Listed below are the only acceptable forms of photo identification :
      • State-issued driver's license
      • State-issued ID card issued by DMV
      • Passport
      • Tribal ID card
      • Naturalization card
      • Military ID
    • Bring your email receipt sent to you by Prepblast and your payment Exam Registration Ticket from CLEP.
    • You must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your testing time. Please be prompt. No late arrivals will be admitted.

Directions/Parking

From I-95 take exit #45, which is also known as Glades Road.
From Florida Turnpike take exit #75, which is also known as Glades Road.

Go east, towards the ocean, on Glades Road and make a left on 1st FAU entrance (Broward Avenue). Once on campus turn right onto Indian river Street then turn left onto Dade Avenue. Visitor parking is on the left; located on the south end of the student support services building (also known as SU 80). If you do not have an FAU parking decal you must park in the visitor's parking lot. All visitors must pay to park at FAU. The price is $1.00 per hour or $10.00 a day, you can pay with cash or credit card. Site Address: 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton FL 33431 Building Student Support Services SU 80 suite 210. On the Davie Campus if you do not have a decal test takers can purchase a day pass for $2 from the Owl card center in SD 201. They need a cash or a check for the amount. They also need their tag number and year of the car. The center is open on Mon and Thurs 8:30-7, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30-4:30, Friday 8:30-3:30. They are closed everyday from 1-2 for lunch. Accommodations

The FAU Testing Center willingly provides special test accommodations for all candidates who qualify for non-standard test administrations. Please send all documentation to FAU Testing Center no later than two weeks prior to your test date. You can fax your documentation to (561) 297-0170 or drop it off at our office in the Student Support Service Building, SU 80 Room 210.

Documentation of your accommodations must :

  • be current- i.e., completed within the past few years for disabilities not of a permanent or unchanging nature.
  • describe the specific accommodations requested
  • adequately support each of the requested testing accommodation(s)
  • be typed or printed on official letterhead and be signed by an evaluator qualified to make the diagnosis.
