Student Media Advisory Board
The Division of Student Affairs in collaboration with Student Government has established a Student Media Advisory Board (SMAB). The mission of the SMAB is to uphold the principles of student media at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) and fulfill the following SMAB primary purposes (as further described in the SMAB charter):
A. Provide advisory guidance and support to student media at FAU through the professional and practical expertise of its members;
B. Advise the student media under its purview, and promote the highest standards of journalism and broadcast communication; safeguard the interests, including financial stability and editorial independence, of student media; and ensure that those media are responsive to the needs and concerns of the University community.

Student Media Advisory Board Members
Ms. Escobar has nearly 20 years of experience in the media and entertainment industries. Since 1994, she has worked with music companies, public relations agencies and radio stations in the South Florida Market. She has held a number of positions on the administrative, as well as talent, side of the media industry. Ms. Escobar has produced and hosted a number of television shows for Mega TV, of Spanish Broadcasting Systems Inc. She is also a founding member of Mia 92.1 FM, a Clear Channel Media radio station which ranks first among Hispanic listeners in the West Palm Beach market. Currently, Ms. Escobar is the Promotions Director and Programming Manager for Mia 92.1. She also produces and hosts the stations' afternoon drive show "El Flow" with Lia Escobar weekdays from 3-7 pm.
Some of Alexandra's highlights as a Producer- Director include, Dr. Show, Season's Greetings with Corbin Benson, Today's Man, with Alan Thicke, and segments for brands such as Whirlpool, Hong Kong and Puerto Rico Tourism, Latin MTV, US Navy, The Air Force, Department of State, The US Treasury, Target stores, and International Walt Disney World, Discovery Channel, History Channel documentaries EPK's (Behind the Scenes videos) and several Political campaign commercials to name a few.
Farver is an Immediate Past President, and for 6 prior years the President of the Board of Directors of Florida Impact, the senior statewide legislative public policy advocacy organization based in Tallahassee, Florida. He lead the initiative, in partnership with Share Our Strength, to implement The Florida Partnership End to Childhood Hunger in Florida. For over 15 years, he held senior management positions with the Tribune Company, one of the country’s premier broadcasting, publishing and internet media companies, before turning to full-time philanthropy and public service in 2006.
