Assessment Team Responsibilities
- Represent departments, and develop and monitor assessment initiatives focusing on the outcomes to be addresses each year.
- Complete documents and reports needed for the Student Affairs strategic planning & assessment cycle
- Enter requested information into IEA on behalf of your department.
- Serve as a resource to the department you represent to develop and streamline assessment strategies.
Dr. Corey A. King - Interim VP of Student Affairs
Dr. Corey A. King is the Interim VP of Student Affairs at Florida Atlantic University. He also is an Associate Graduate Faculty with the Department of Educational Leadership and Research Methodology with the College of Education. Dr. King received a bachelor's in Curriculum & Instruction and a master's in Higher Education Administration/Student Affairs from Florida State University. He received his doctorate in Educational Administration & Leadership from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Over the past 20 years, Dr. King has held administrative positions in Student Affairs at Florida State University, University of Florida, Wheeling Jesuit University and East Carolina University. Dr. King is involved with the Southern Association for College Student Affairs (SACSA) and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). He has participated in many institutes and workshops including the NASPA/SACSA New Professional Institute (NPI), NASPA/SACSA Mid Managers' Institute (MMI), and the NASPA Senior Student Affairs Officers' Institute.
Karen A. Murray, MS - Acting Assistant Dean & Director for New Student Orientation
Karen Murray is the Acting Assistant Dean & Director for New Student Orientation at Florida Atlantic University. Karen received a bachelor's in French from Eastern Kentucky University and a master's in College Student Personnel from Miami University.
Karen has more than 20 years experience working in Higher Education. She served Miami University as the Director of Health Education and the Miami University Hamilton Campus Coordinator of Student Activities, Recreation Sports and Athletics. Karen taught part-time in the Department of Kinesiology and Health. Most recently Karen worked for the Butler County Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Board where she assessed, built capacity, planned, implemented and evaluated community-based substance abuse prevention efforts.
