Course Focus

Study of the creation and maintenance of gender/ sexuality systems, with particular emphasis on the American case. Focuses on the construction of genders, as well as forms of resistance to them. Emphasizes the relationships between gender, race/ethnicity, and social class. Analyzes social institutions as gendered systems.
