The FAU Elite OWL is a premiere ambassador leadership program designed to recognize exemplary student leaders at Florida Atlantic University. Through Elite Owls you are given the opportunity for personal leadership development as well as facilitating leadership development for students at FAU. Elite Owls along with FAU are in a period of tradition building and by becoming an Elite Owl you are able to not only be a part of the tradition but you are in the center of building the tradition yourself.
Elite Owls Mission Statement: To build a strong leadership foundation across the campuses while creating possibilities for student leaders to engage others in making an everlasting mark on the community and student body; in and out of the classroom.
Introducing the 2014 - 2015 Elite Owls
Trevor Lewis is a junior at Florida Atlantic University and is an accounting major from Winter Springs, Florida. In his two years at FAU, Trevor has fallen in love with the university and all of the unique opportunities it has to offer. Trevor began his involvement at FAU serving as the Traditions Chair for Program Board, he is passionate about spreading excitement and tradition at FAU making this the perfect position for him. Since then, he has assumed the role of Director of Program Board and aspires to provide entertainment that the whole student body can enjoy. In his free time, he enjoys going to FAU sporting events, meeting new people, and giving back to the community.
Cassandra Smith, known as Cassie to most, is a senior on the Boca Raton campus of FAU. She is a sociology major who is also minoring in health administration. She hopes to continue her education after her undergraduate career by attending Nursing School or Graduate School. Cassie, along with her full time schedule, is involved on campus through not only Elite owls, but is also a College PanHellenic Association woman and Assistant Director of Program Board. Cassie is enjoying her final year here at FAU and as a third year Elite Owl and can't wait to see what this opportunity can yet again bring her. Go Owls!
Dakotah Radabaugh is a sophomore at the Boca Raton campus of FAU and is an International business major with a minor in Finance. Along with being Elite Owl, Dakotah is also a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity and is a Greek Life Ambassador for FAU. Dakotah hopes that by being a member of the Elite Owls team, he would not only learn a lot about leadership, but also help create a more unified student body. Outside the classroom Dakotah likes to spend his time playing sports or going to the beach!
Rachel is a junior studying mathematics at the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College. She has been a part of many organizations on campus, including COSO, Mental Health Ambassadors, and Orientation Week Leaders. This year she is excited to join the Jupiter Program Board as Coordinator, and even more excited to start her first year as an Elite Owl! Rachel loves wearing patriotic clothing, wasting her time watching YouTube videos, and working with emerging leaders to find their niche on campus.
Emi is a Senior Honors student and holistic health enthusiast. She is currently majoring in Psychology and minoring in Spanish language, and is also very interested in Philosophy and loves writing. Besides curling up with coffee and a good book, she loves being outside, whether running, kayaking, hiking, bike-riding, or frolicking at the beach. Emi is passionate about helping others find their talent and she finds joy in several leadership positions including president of Pre-Law Society, Mental Health Ambassador, Orientation Week Leader, Writing Consultant, and Elite Owl. She welcomes any questions and would love to hear from esteemed Owl peers :) Go Owls!
Katie is a junior majoring in Criminal Justice on the Boca Raton campus. Raised in Florida, she is extremely proud to be a FAU Owl and demonstrates her pride by being active around campus. Katie is in the Army National Guard and is also a part of the Reserved Officer Training Corps. (ROTC) on campus. Along with her intensive schedule a major part of her time is spent working in the Student Involvement and Leadership Office, where her passion towards leadership is enhanced. This is Katie’s first year as an Elite Owl and is excited what new experiences the Elite Owls can bring to her.
Algernon Dean is a Junior Accounting major and Management Information Systems minor on the Boca Raton campus. Dean is passionate about leadership and enabling others to be the best that they can be. Dean has served the FAU community as an Orientation Leader and a Learning Community Liaison by welcoming and mentoring freshman students. Dean is currently contributing to campus life as an Executive Board Member of Collegiate DECA, a Founding Father of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, and as an active member of Student Government. Dean enjoys being involved on campus and is always seeking opportunities to motivate and inspire others to unlock their potential to be leaders. Dean wants to make a difference as an Elite Owl by impacting the student body and enriching the overall experience for FAU Owls.
Katie is a senior majoring in Public Management, minoring in Nonprofit Management and planning on pursuing a career in fundraising and event planning. Because her mother and two sisters graduated from FAU, Katie knew she was going to be an Owl. Along with being an Elite Owl this year, she is a Greek Life Ambassador for the Fraternity & Sorority Life Office, a member of the Order of Omega Greek Honor Society, the President of the Student Philanthropy Council, and the former Student Body Vice President. Katie is also a proud member of Delta Phi Epsilon sorority and has held countless positions such as Fundraising chair, Philanthropy Coordinator, and being the past Vice President of Programming. Katie takes pride in FAU and hopes to make a positive impact within her role as an Elite Owl throughout the year, while inspiring students within the university to explore their leadership abilities and the opportunities available to them.
Lindsay Rinner, originally from Orlando, is a junior on the Boca Raton campus. Lindsay has been a member of Program Board since her freshman year! And served as the Director during the 2013-2014 school year. As an Elite Owl she has enrolled in the Certified Student Leader program. She is a Film major and hopes to move to Chicago to travel and do volunteer work after she graduates! Lindsay's dream is to eventually move up north and become a comedy writer and producer for a television show. In her spare time Lindsay loves to watch TV, go to the movies, and spend time with friends and family! She's looking forward to all the leadership and service opportunities that this year in Elite Owls will bring!
Allyson, also known as Ally, is a junior at the Boca Raton campus. She is studying neuroscience and hopes to be become a neurosurgeon. Besides being a full-time student, Ally is a sister of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, a member of Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society, and a member of Phi Delta Epsilon Medical Fraternity. She holds a position on the executive board of Omicron Delta Kappa Honor society and has a chair position within her fraternity. Ally is currently in the process of becoming a Certified Student Leader. Besides her passion for leadership, Ally enjoys learning and as an Elite Owl wants to spread her knowledge to all emerging leaders on campus.
Anne Kristie Caton
Kristie is originally from Haiti and she is now a junior at the Boca Raton campus. She is currently undeclared for a major. She is the 2014-2015 public relations officer of the National Council of Negro Women, a past Orientation Leader, an Owls Care Leader, and last but not least an Elite Owl. Her motto is to make the world a better place one smile at a time. Some fun facts about Kristie are that she lives to dance, she is a skater, plays the piano, and speaks three languages fluently. Her mission as an Elite Owl (student leader in general) is to convey to the student body that you don't have to be a certain shape, size, or personality to be a leader. All you have to do is want it and put in the hard work.
Kathryn Edmunds, originally from Georgia, desire's to help others find full freedom and joy in life by inspiring, motivating, and encouraging individuals. By providing the proper tools, she believes every student can reach their full potential and inspire others. Kathryn is a junior at Florida Atlantic University and is double majoring in Business Marketing and Management. She is an active student serving on the Boca Raton Campus. Currently serving as the Boca Raton Governor, Kathryn is passionate about helping each student have the true blue FAU experience. She is also a proud member of Phi Mu Fraternity and serves as the Membership director on the executive board. Kathryn is thrilled to be apart of the Elite Owls Team and looks forward to working with all the incredible student leaders at Florida Atlantic University.
