moved both out and returned
- Animal movement from room to room within the same

transferred to a clean cage and the dirty cage put where
dirty cages are stored (normally in the dirty cage wash

staff may transport the animals from building to
building. If schedule or staffing does not permit
transport on a timely basis, then the PI may transport
the animal with Veterinary Services approval.
- The animals will be placed in a “Coleman”
cooler immediately before transport and opened immediate
upon arrival at the new room.
- The cooler will be sprayed down the same as the
cage above.
- The cooler will normally be transported in the
Veterinary Services’ vehicle
- The vehicle will be started and the temperature
adjusted to maintain between 64 and 75 degrees inside
the vehicle prior to putting the animals in the
vehicle.
- The vehicle will go immediately to the new building
without any stops or delays.
- The vehicle will be sanitized before and after each
use.
