Program
The Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political
Science is designed to provide majors with a liberal arts
education that includes required core courses and
electives. The required courses ensure that all majors
complete basic political science courses. The electives provide
flexibility for students who want to concentrate/specialize
within one or more of the subfields within the disciplines of
political science.
The Department of Political Science offers
two graduate degrees in Political Science: Master of Arts (M.A.)
and Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.). Graduate students
develop academic and professional skills to prepare them for
careers in education, government agencies, legislative offices,
and a variety of private sector positions. Faculty with expertise
in all fields of the discipline assist students to develop a
course of study. Students have the opportunity to work with
professors in research based community activities.
