Access Owl Mail in Apple's Mail

Please set your Owl Apps Password in the MyFAU accounts page before you continue with these instructions.

Log into MyFAU and click the My Account link on the top left and then Set Your Owl Apps Account Password.
  1. Enable IMAP in Owl Mail:
  • Sign in to Owl Mail.
  • Click the gear icon in the upper right and select Mail settings.
  • Click on Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
  • Select Enable IMAP.
  • Configure your IMAP client and click Save Changes.
  1. Open the Mail Application.

    Mavericks (10.9) Users: When prompted to Add Account please choose "Other", do not select Gmail or Exchange, otherwise the email will not download.

    1. On the top click on the mail tab and go to Preferences.
    2. Click on the accounts tab and add a new account by clicking on the +.
    3. Put in your full email and enter your Owl App account password.

    4. Set the Account Type to IMAP.
    5. Write up your own Description.
    6. Set the Incoming Mail Server to
    7. For User Name put in your full email again
    8. The Password is the Owl App password you set earlier.
    9. Click Continue and the Outgoing Mail Server screen will appear.

    10. Set up your own Description.
    11. Set the Outgoing Mail Server to
    12. Check Use only this server and make sure the Use Authentication box is checked.
    13. For User Name put in your full email again
    14. Your Password is the Owl Apps password you set earlier. Then click Continue.
    15. Check the Take account online box and create.
