IMAP & POP Settings for Exchange Users

You can use the following information to configure IMAP/POP with a wide variety of email
clients.

User Name:              Your FAUNet ID
Email Address:        Your full email address: faunetid@fau.edu
Password:                Your FAUNet ID password

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - requires SSL/TLS:

IMAP Settings: Exchimap.fau.edu
Use SSL:           Yes
Use TLS:           Yes
Port:                  993

Incoming Mail (POP) Server - requires SSL/TLS:

POP Settings: Exchpop.fau.edu
USE SSL:         Yes
USE TLS:         Yes
Port:                995

Outgoing Mail:

On-Campus Settings:

SMTP Settings:         smtp.fau.edu
Use Authentication: None
USE SSL:
No
USE TLS:
No
Port:
                           25

Off-Campus Settings - requires TLS/SSL:

SMTP Settings:         smtpsec.fau.edu (use authentication)
Use Authentication: Yes
Use STARTTLS:          Yes (some clients call this SSL)
Port:                           587

Please note that if your client does not support SMTP authentication, you will not be able to send mail through your client using your FAU address.

If you are having trouble sending mail but have confirmed that encryption is active for SMTP in your mail client, try to configure your SMTP server on a different port: 465 or 587.

Some clients may support TLS over SSL; this is not a concern because all traffic over the connection will be secured.
