Welcome to Florida Atlantic University (FAU). The history of FAU is made up of students just like you, off-campus students. From its opening in 1961 through 1984 FAU was a Junior and Senior college. Many students transferred to FAU, lived off campus and commuted. Today with over 30,000 students, the majority of our students live off campus.
What does this mean for you? It means everything that happens on campus is for all students, not just on-campus students. Research shows that involvement and being connected to campus life is a key indicator of persistence and graduation. We want you to take flight with us and get involved. Commuter and Transfer programs now resides in the Student Union. Just as on-campus students often have living rooms in their apartments, we want you to consider the Student Union your living room! Come in, sit down, mingle with friends and have some fun between classes.
Our office is looking forward to providing quality co-curricular programs and that begins with you. If you have an idea for a program or simply want to get involved but are not quite sure how, send me an email, firstname.lastname@example.org. Here's to an amazing year! Go Owls!
