The FAU Community Garden will be using all organic fertilizers, soil, and seeds and abide to sustainable practices. The Community Garden will also be equipped with drip irrigation in all beds to conserve water and ensure that this garden will have a low carbon footprint.
Mission Green is extremely excited to be a part of this new movement of urban gardening. Our goal is to educate students, faculties, and staff about the importance of organic produce and sustainable practices. Volunteering Events
Mission Green is looking for volunteers to help build the garden beds, set up the drip irrigation system, and also begin planting the seedlings. The community garden project is an on-going process and there will be a lot of help needed to maintain and improve the garden. As always, send an email if you are interested.
Workshops
In addition to having a hands-on experience in the community garden. Mission Green will be hosting workshops open to all students, faculty, and staff to educate anybody interested in learning about healthy produce, composting, starting your own flower gardens, and more!! These workshops will be facilitated by professional gardeners, an updated list will be posted soon. In the meantime, you can send an email to us if you are interested in attending or facilitating a workshop.
