About MGSA
Mission Green Student Association Mission Statement: To create a culture of sustainability at Florida Atlantic University in which the entire FAU community is aware of, involved with and committed to advancing sustainability through education, operations and community engagement.
What exactly is sustainability? Put in simpler terms, sustainability is providing for the best for people and the environment both now and in the indefinite future.
- MGSA is a group of passionate students who work to spread awareness and encourage involvement in the youth environmental movement. Mission Green works in all aspects in sustainability.
- Some of our interests and initiatives on campus include:
- Building a community garden at FAU
- Running an TerraCycle program in Housing
- Establishing a GreenFund to invest in Renewable Energy
- Continually improving our system for waste and recycling
- Environmental protection and restoring the FAU Preserve
- Green building, LEED standards
- Local and sustainable food
- Coastal protection and stopping offshore drilling
- Working with Greenpeace and Sierra club student networks
- Working with student government to improve sustainability
- Our annual Greenfest in November
- RecycleMania in the Spring semester
- Anything else you would be interested in working on!!
