FAU Thanks Sponsors Contributing to ‘Making Waves Gala’
BOCA RATON, Fla. (March 24, 2014) – Florida Atlantic University will host the “Making Waves Gala,” one of Boca Raton’s most distinctive “see and be seen” events, on Saturday, March 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Martin F. and Jane Greenberg Foundation Tower of FAU Stadium, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. Proceeds will provide scholarships and support for veterans and first generation students.FAU has secured more than 60 sponsors for the gala, including corporations, local businesses, alumni and friends of FAU.
“On behalf of the host committee, I would like to thank all of our sponsors for their generous support of FAU’s ‘Making Waves Gala,’” said Joanne Davis, interim vice president for community engagement and executive director of the FAU Foundation. “The ‘Making Waves Gala’ is an opportunity for our friends in the local community to join us for an evening of fun, food and entertainment, while raising funds to support our military veteran students, as well as those who are the first in their families to attend college.”
The Americana-themed party will span multiple levels of FAU Stadium and will dazzle the senses with gourmet dining, full open bar, live music from Motown to jazz, a “halftime” extravaganza with fireworks and more. Live and silent auctions will feature items such as a $10,000 Saks Fifth Avenue shopping spree, a stadium suite for 20 at an FAU home football game, golf outings, jewelry, sports memorabilia, vacations, a 60-minute helicopter tour, a day of high performance sports car racing at Sebring International Raceway, and two tickets to the Tony Awards in New York City.
