FAU Department of Theatre Presents ‘Wonder of the World’

BOCA RATON (January 27, 2012) - Florida Atlantic University’s department of theatre in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters presents “Wonder of the World,” a comedy by David Lindsay-Abaire from Friday, February 17 through Sunday, February 26, in the Studio One Theatre on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. Shows are on Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays at 1 p.m. General admission tickets are $20; FAU students may purchase tickets for $12, and FAU faculty and staff may purchase tickets for $16. Tickets may be purchased by visiting , by calling 800-564-9539 or at the theatre one hour prior to the performance.

The play tells the story of unhappy Cass, who attempts to leave behind her deadly dull life and husband by fleeing to Niagara Falls. There she becomes entangled with various neurotics – a heartbroken tour-boat captain, a half-hearted would-be suicide nutcase, a pair of incompetent, but heartless private eyes – all of whom, before the play is over, discover they are connected in a weird, comical lattice of coincidence.

The New York Times said this about the show: “Hefty laughter. David Lindsay-Abaire’s ‘Wonder of the World’ is exceedingly whimsical and playfully wicked. Winning and genial. A top-drawer production.”

FAU’s theater productions are supported in part by the Palm Beach County Cultural Council, Palm Beach County and the Tourist Development Council. For more information about FAU's department of theatre, call 561-297-3810.
