FAU Presents a Storytelling Feast

BOCA RATON, FL (November 5,  2009) – The South Florida Storytelling Project of the School of Communication and Multimedia Studies in Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters presents “ACultural Feast: A Deliciously Different Performance Event.”  This one-of-a-kind luncheon theatre series includes a buffet-style lunch served by area restaurants, providing a delicious sample of cuisine from various cultures, followed by a storytelling performance.  The series will take place in the Willow Theatre at Sugar Sand Park, 300 S. Military Trail, Boca Raton.  Tickets are $25 for the lunch and performance.

The first performance, “A Bite of the Big Apple New York Stories,” featuring Regina Ress, will take place on Saturday, November 14 at 12:30 p.m.  Years of being a passionate resident of Greenwich Village have given Regina Ress a sharp eye for New York character, place and history. From the Bronx to Battery Park, you’ll relive the sights and sounds of American’s most exciting city.

On Saturday, February 20 at 12:30 p.m., Connie Regan-Blade presents “True Grits a Window on Appalachia.”  For traditional Appalachian Mountain tales or true-life drama, there’s no one like Regan-Blake. A longtime protegee of renowned traditional storyteller Ray Hicks, she takes you on an unforgettable journey to the Old World and the Old Ways.
