Press Release:

FAU Student Leadership Conference to Encourage Growth, Development

BOCA RATON, FL (September 25, 2008) – Florida Atlantic University’s Office of Student Development and Activities will host its first “FAU Student Leadership Conference” on Saturday, September 27 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at FAU’s Student Union, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus.

The intent of the program is to introduce various leadership tracks that students will be able to participate in for the remainder of the year.  The tracks will be divided into three sections, one geared toward freshman, one for sophomore and juniors, and one for students about to graduate, teaching them how to expand their leadership skills, create change and positively make a difference as an individual.  Students will be able to register for one of the tracks, which will be held once a month from October through May.

Cory Ciocchetti, an assistant professor of business ethics and legal studies in the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver, as well as Mike Jarvis, FAU’s men’s basketball head coach, are the keynote speakers for the daylong “FAU Student Leadership Conference.” The conference also will offer seminars on character development, conflict resolution, diversity, integrity, marketing and recruiting, as well as meeting management.
