FAU Jupiter’s Lifelong Learning Society Announces the Fall 2008 Course Schedule

JUPITER, FL (August 11, 2008) - Florida Atlantic University announces the Lifelong Learning Society Jupiter course offerings for the Fall 2008 semester, beginning Monday, October 13.

The Lifelong Learning Society is offering several one-day events and courses in conjunction with the 2008 election season. “Lifelong Learning takes on the motto that it is never too soon or too late to learn,” said René Friedman, director of the Lifelong Learning Society in Jupiter.. “It is important to offer to the community opportunities to learn more about the political issues facing the United States prior to the November election.”

Taught by FAU professors and distinguished guest lecturers, course offerings include such varied subjects as foreign policy, political science, film, music, art history and literature. The Lifelong Learning Society was established to provide adults of all ages the opportunity to enrich their lives through non-credit, university-level courses with no homework or tests.

Fall courses are held in the Lifelong Learning Society complex and include:

  • America’s Debate
  • Jazz: Today & Tomorrow
  • The Use of Scientific and Demographic Data for Public Policy
  • Why I Appreciate Art
  • King Arthur and His Legacy
  • The Diplomat Series: Pakistan and the Arc of Crisis
