FAU Presents Two Free Concerts

            BOCA RATON (April 14, 2009) – The department of music in the School of the Arts in Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters invites the public to enjoy two free concerts. On Saturday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m., the FAU choral organizations will present a concert under the direction of Patricia Fleitas, Stacie Rossow and Sally Brown. Then, on Sunday, April 19 at 3 p.m., the FAU Wind Ensemble will present a concert under the direction of Kyle Prescott. Both concerts take place in the University Theatre on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road.

            The program for the Wind Ensemble will include “Bells,” by Ian McDougal; “Salvation in Created,” by Pavel Tchesnekoff; “The Solitary Dancer,” by Warren Benson; “Pictures at an Exhibition,” by Modeste Mussorgsky; and “Nightscapes for Saxophone and Wind Ensemble.” The last piece was composed by FAU faculty member Stuart Glazer and will include a saxophone solo by FAU faculty member Neal Bonsanti.
