FAU Treasure Coast Campus Holds Open House for Two Degree Programs
Bachelor of Information Engineering Technology and Bachelor of Computer Science
PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (April 20, 2007) - Florida Atlantic University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science will host an open house on Monday, May 7 from 6 - 8 p.m. on the Treasure Coast campus in Port Saint Lucie, JU Building, Room 335. Join College of Engineering and Computer Science faculty and staff as they present information about two degree programs, the Bachelor of Information Engineering Technology (B.I.E.T.) and the Bachelor of Computer Science (C.S.).
The innovative B.I.E.T. degree program provides hands-on, practical skills for students transferring to FAU with an Associate of Science degree or at least 60 college credits in areas such as computer programming and analysis, network services technology, computer information technology, computer engineering technology and computer science (networks and programming). The program will also provide students with popular certifications, including Citrix and Cisco.
“The B.I.E.T. program opens the door to students pursuing a career in the technology field,” said Ankur Agarwal, computer science professor at the Treasure Coast campus. “It will provide the educational background they need to aim for higher-level positions in the workforce.”
The traditional Bachelor of Computer Science (C.S.) is another program offered by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Treasure Coast campus. This popular program prepares students for new jobs in computer science related occupations. “Computer science is one of the fastest growing job markets in the United States,” said Agarwal. “More computer scientists and engineers are needed to fill the demand.”
Attendees of the open house will receive a comprehensive overview of both degree programs and have the opportunity to speak with college advisors and FAU financial officers. For more information or to register for the B.I.E.T./C.S. open house, contact Vanessa L. Díaz at 561-297-2903 or e-mail Dr. Ankur Agarwal at firstname.lastname@example.org.
