FAU Jupiter’s Lifelong Learning Society Hosts Intergenerational Program
JUPITER, FL (March 18, 2010) – The Lifelong Learning Society at Florida Atlantic University’s Jupiter campus will host “A Soldier’s Journey: Coming Home” as part of the Lifelong Learning Society Intergenerational Program on Tuesday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Lifelong Learning Society complex at FAU, located at 5353 Parkside Drive, Jupiter . The lecture is free and open to the public.
This event will bring FAU college students together with Lifelong Learning students for a discussion on how an American soldier integrates back into civilian life and the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder. Soldiers from World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Operation Restore Hope in Somalia and the Iraq War will present their experiences in a panel discussion. The event will be facilitated by Dr. Phil Cromer, assistant director of the counseling center on the FAU Jupiter campus and a licensed Florida psychologist.
