FAU Presents the United States Air Force Concert Band and Singing Sergeants in a Free Concert
BOCA RATON, FL (March 6, 2007) – The department of music in Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters presents the United States Air Force Concert Band and the Singing Sergeants in a free concert on Sunday, April 15 at 3 p.m. in the Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium at the University Center on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road.
Tickets may be obtained by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope with a request for tickets (limit four) to University Bands/Department of Music, 777 Glades Road, AH 119, Boca Raton, Florida 33431. Letters must be received by April 2 to ensure timely delivery. Groups of 10 or more may also request tickets by calling 561-297-3854.
For more than 60 years, the 61-member United States Air Force Concert Band and the 23-member Singing Sergeants have been winning the hearts of music lovers around the world. They have planned a program full of great band classics and patriotic music.
“We are very lucky to be able to host such a prestigious organization,” said Kyle Prescott, assistant professor in the department of music and director of University Bands. “This is the band that has appeared before every chief executive of the United States since President Truman.”
Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Ticket holders must be seated by 2:45 p.m. If additional seats are still available at that time, non-ticket holders will be admitted. For further information, call 561-297-3854.
