FAU’s Keys to Success Seminar to Provide Professional Insight, Networking Opportunities for Students
BOCA RATON, FL (February 19, 2007) – Florida Atlantic University will host its first “Keys to Success Seminar” on Tuesday, February 20, showcasing some of the most influential and inspirational business and community leaders, including a panel of distinguished FAU alumni, to benefit current students enrolled at the university.
The motivational leadership seminar will take place from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium in the University Center on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. A networking reception featuring local businesses will immediately follow at the Live Oak Pavilion until 7:30 p.m.
“I wanted to create this program for so many reasons, primarily because I’ve derived great benefits from programs like this, and I wanted other FAU students to have the same opportunity,” said Geno Roefaro, founder and chair of Keys to Success, as well as a student at Florida Atlantic University.
The seminar will consist of an effective leadership presentation which begins at 1:30 p.m. Seminar presenters will include FAU President Frank T. Brogan; Barry Kaye, best-selling author and insurance entrepreneur; Armand Grossman, real estate developer and FAU Board of Trustee member; Manuel Medina, founder, chairman and CEO of Terremark Worldwide, Inc.; Delsa R. Bush, first African American and first female chief of police for the city of West Palm Beach; and Dr. Bob Nelson, motivational speaker and best-selling author. The event emcee will be Tony Stromberg, founder of Crossingate. There also will be a Q&A session between students and a Distinguished FAU Alumni panel at 4 p.m.
Following the seminar, there will be a networking reception at 5:30 p.m. that will give FAU students the opportunity to meet one-on-one with both respected professionals and other motivated students. The networking reception will be divided into areas based upon students’ career interests and will feature representatives from companies such as Office Depot, Microsoft, Northwestern Mutual, Morgan Stanley, Boca Helping Hands, Everglades Direct, Tenet Healthcare, West Boca Medical Center and Bank of America.
