Tickets Available for Purchase to Attend
His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Public Address at FAU


BOCA RATON, FL (January 14, 2010) – Tickets will be available for purchase to the general public beginning Tuesday, January 19 to attend the public address of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet at Florida Atlantic University on Wednesday, February 24.  

This will be the first-ever visit for His Holiness to Palm Beach County, in which he will give a public talk titled “Compassion as a Pillar of World Peace.”  His Holiness will address FAU’s students, faculty, staff and members of the general community beginning at 10 a.m. in the FAU Arena, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. 

Floor tickets will be available for $75/ticket.  Raised, chair back, bleacher style seating will be available for $49/ticket.  To purchase tickets, visit www.fau.edu/peace.  Tickets for the general public will be mailed to ticket holders or will be available at the arena’s Will Call the day of the event. 

On Monday, January 18, FAU students, faculty and staff will be able to go to www.fau.edu/peace and enter a lottery for a free ticket. 

An event information sheet also will be included with each ticket distributed and will include suggested time of arrival; permitted items; parking information, as well as any other pertinent information for the event.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama does not accept any honorarium.  Proceeds from the event, if there are any, will go to charitable or educational purposes.
