Human Resources Welcomes
New Director, Changes Name

The newly renamed Department of Human Resources has a new director, El pagnier K. Hudson (pictured, below). Ms. Hudson has extensive leadership experience in human resource management, including positions with the Town of Davie and the Broward Sheriff's Office among others.

"I am thoroughly convinced that a primary role of human capital management is to encourage and develop people so they can, in turn, build a successful organization," said Hudson.

The name change to the Department of Human Resources was announced last month and was made to accurately reflect the importance of FAU's full- and part-time faculty and staff -- now totaling more than 4,200 individuals -- as a resource in achieving the strategic goals and objectives of the University.

The department will also introduce "HR Weekly," an e-mail posting that will highlight important information for all employees as well as coming deadlines and events. The e-mail will arrive in employee inboxes every Tuesday, starting later this month.

Employees can now ask questions, make suggestions or provide feedback concerning personnel-related issues through the AskHR website. Please visit the department's main site at www.fau.edu/hr.
