They Forgot They Could Fly, an oil-on-canvas work by Sibel Kocabasi, is one of 16 of her recent paintings on display in the John D. MacArthur Campus Library gallery through Oct. 19. Kocabasi, who received an MFA in painting from FAU in 2005, paints mostly oil on canvas, but also produces oil paintings on wood and even uses oil mixed with fingernail polish. More than 850 FAU employees, family members and retirees joined close to 40 vendors at the University's 2006 Benefits Fair. Nearly 350 people received flu shots from United HealthCare.
