The College of Education
recently held a special "Celebration of Partnerships" event to honor a number of FAU’s service partners in education.
"This event was important to raise awareness of the many partnerships that FAU has in Broward and with Broward County Public Schools," said Kathleen O’Rourke, FAU liaison to Broward County Public Schools. "Faculty at FAU and at our partner institutions provide service on an on-going basis to enhance the programs available for our FAU students and Broward County schoolchildren."
Service partnerships work to fill the gaps between educational aims and realities in areas such as funding and personnel. By going above and beyond their required roles, FAU’s service partners seek to meet the educational needs of Broward, providing invaluable resources and preparing teachers for challenges in the classroom through professional development.
FAU service partners honored at the event were: Broward County Public Schools, Broward Community College, Silver Ridge Elementary School, Junior Achievement of South Florida, Teaching and Leadership Center, Digital Education Teacher Academy, Broward County Educational Consortium, Urban Teacher Academy Program and Nova Vision.
