Some 1,500 graduates joined faculty, staff and administrators at the fall 2005 commencement ceremonies. Author and financial expert Barry Kaye (below) was awarded an honorary doctorate.

In November, Florida First Lady Columba Bush (second from right) joined (from left) Countess Henrietta de Hoernle, Madelyn Savarick and President Brogan at the State of the Arts in Florida Visioning Project, a collaborative community event at FAU organized by Arts for a Complete
Education/Florida Alliance for Arts Education, FAU, the Florida Higher Education Arts Network, the Palm Beach County Cultural Council and the School District of Palm Beach County.

The inaugural exhibition “Lifestyles” by acclaimed artist Rosemarie Chiarlone, featuring mixed-media, interactive installation/commentary on the homeless, has debuted at the MacArthur Campus Library' new exhibit space on the first floor. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
It will run until March 4.

Richard Brooker proudly displays the presidential proclamation he received upon his retirement last month. He retired after serving FAU for more than 30 years as a maintenance worker and supervisor, handling maintenance at the University Village Apartments for the past decade. In honor of his exemplary service, his radio number, “Housing 3,” has been retired. Pictured with Brooker is University Housing Director Jill Eckardt.
