DESCRIPTION: The Joe Scott Trio, consisting of Joe Scott on piano, bassist David Tomasello and drummer Karl Ott along with Joe Mal will perform a wide variety of jazz styles including beautiful ballads, hot jazz, smooth jazz and funky blues incorporating some of the popular hits of the great American saxophonists. Joe Mal will perform on the tenor, alto and soprano saxophones. A brief discussion will be given on the differences between these instruments, their unique sound qualities and how and when they are utilized.
BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Joe Scott holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Theory and Composition from The Manhattan School of Music. He is a professional jazz pianist, arranger and orchestrator and has given many lectures at Lifelong Learning Society (LLS) over the years.
