BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: A
native New Yorker, Hindi Diamond spent her formative years in Panama. There,
she became the first American foreign correspondent for Time/Life, McGraw
Hill, United Press (UP) and Businessweek. She covered all fast-breaking news
events, interviewing and photographing dictators, presidents, heads of state,
and showbiz personalities that came to Panama. Her book, GRINGA, My Love
Affair with Panama, includes her coverage and photos during these years.
For many years she was a reporter for the Miami-Herald, Miami News and
the South Florida Business Journal. Among other international awards, she has
received the Presidential Gold Medal for Outstanding Journalism in Panama.
