DESCRIPTION: This concert will be presented by the professional staff and the Artists in Residence of the Delray Beach Chorale - a select group of young professionals who serve as soloists, section leaders, and vocal instructors with the Delray Beach Chorale. This program is a collection of music from the Golden Age of Broadway through some of the most successful musicals of the past decades. This concert will deliver toe-tapping tunes and beloved ballads from some of the most celebrated composers in musical theater such as Irving Berlin, George and Ira Gershwin, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Cole Porter, Leonard Bernstein, Steven Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Weber, Steven Schwartz and more. The program will include solos, duets, and ensemble selections from Broadway’s best loved musicals, both past and present, including selections from Les Miserables, Oklahoma, Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, The Secret Garden, White Christmas, The King and I, Wicked, Sister Act, and more.

BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Since its beginning over 30 years ago, the Delray Beach Chorale has drawn talented amateur and professional singers from the South Florida area from Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach. The Chorale’s mission “to promote and encourage the art of singing and to share the experience of great music with the community” is enhanced by their music education program, which features Artists in Residence teaching and mentoring Apprentices, and is proud to feature accomplished professional artists teach lessons, free of charge, to high school and undergraduate level singers wishing to further their musical knowledge and experience.
