DESCRIPTION: This lecture series will provide an eye-opening, thought-provoking discussion based on the 1993 monumental book by historian / journalist David Halberstam. Ms. Delmont will discuss in depth the ideas behind Halberstam’s premise that “the ‘50’s”, remembered by most as simply a nostalgic era when nothing of any importance happened, was actually the “most important decade of the entire 20th century.” Attendees are not required to read any of the books discussed.

BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Ronelle Delmont was born on the Lower-East-Side of NYC and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn. Her further education (after dropping out of Hunter College, where she was a music major) was at Broward Community College/Davie and Florida International University (BS - International Relations). Her eclectic background includes; owning an antique shop in Greenwich Village, owner of an entertainment agency, a stint working for Pan-Am Airlines and lecturing for Osher Lifelong Learning. Since 1996 Delmont has been a book reviewer and lecturer in South Florida. She currently is writing a book on the subject of the Lindbergh babykidnapping and trial. She is the publisher of an in-depth, controversial website on that subject (www.lindberghkidnappinghoax.com.) She is married to Parisian-born singer and agent, Daniel Delmont.
