COURSE DESCRIPTION: This eight-week series continues the LLS lectures given in Winter 2013. Ronelle uses slide show photos, film and music to illustrate the amazing impact Manhattan's Lower East Side had on American Society. Through many voices of the past, this nostalgic history will come to life with completely new lectures. From the early tenement conditions to the modern day, the history of the Lower East Side is an unforgettable story that still fascinates us all. Delmont, a Lower-East-Sider herself, will take you on an imaginary "tour" of one of the most popular neighborhoods in America.

BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Ronelle Delmont was born on the Lower-East-Side of NYC and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn. She attended Hunter College as a music major and received a BS from Florida International University in International Relations. Her eclectic background includes: owning an antique shop in Greenwich Village: owning an entertainment agency: working for Pan-Am Airlines and lecturing for Osher Lifelong Learning. Since 1996 Delmont has been a book reviewer and lecturer in South Florida. She is currently writing a book on the subject of the Lindbergh baby kidnapping and trial. She is the publisher of an in-depth, controversial website on that subject (www.lindberghkidnappinghoax.com) She is married to Parisian-born singer and agent, Daniel Delmont.
