The British Invasion:
A Musical Tour
Rod MacDonald
Recipient of the LLS 2012 Distinguished Faculty Award

EVENT DESCRIPTION: Following the Beatles' first visit to The United States fifty years ago, the “British Invasion,” as Walter Cronkite termed it, hit the US airwaves, with a premier cast of one-hit wonders and bands, from the innocent Herman’s Hermits and blues-loving Animals and Yardbirds, to such classic musicians as the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, and Van Morrison. Like the Beatles, as these bands matured, the bands of the British Invasion created, with wit and music sure to bring a smile some of rock and roll’s most-loved songs. Join Rod MacDonald & the Humdingers for a fresh perspective on The "British Invasion", a fun and low-decibel tour through the characters, favorite songs and genius of the stars of this unique movement's stars.
