Explore Your Future: Re-Engage for Good
Lorraine D. Cross

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This will be a dynamic four-lecture interactive series designed to teach you to Re-engage for Good and gain insight into how to positively engage the "next chapter" of your life. The lectures focus on helping retired, and/or soon-to-be retired persons examine who they are and how to channel many of their interests and talents. Participants will have an opportunity to examine innovative ways to engage their expertise, time, talent and experience by exploring retirement options which invigorate their lives and improve the community. Participants will end the series with an action plan for re-engaging in the community, and have a new appreciation of rich and diverse retirement opportunities.

1. What Have Been the Major Influences on Your Life?
2. Who Are You Now?
3. What Do You Want for Your “Next Chapter”?
4. How Can You Get What You Want?
BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Lorraine D. Cross retired from Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in 2012 and is currently an educational consultant for schools, districts, colleges and universities in Florida. While at FAU, she was a faculty member in the College of Education and was Director of Program and School Initiatives in the Office for Academic and Student Services. Moreover, she served as the Program Coordinator for Effective Teaching Practices. Mrs. Cross is a Florida Campus Compact (FCC) Certified Scholar and is an Academic Service-Learning liaison to non-profit organizations.  She is a certified trainer for Explore Your Future: Re-engage for Good, sponsored by the Community Foundation of Broward in association with "Coming of Age" and previously taught a similar series for the Lifelong Learning Society (LLS) in Spring 2012.  Her passions and lifelong endeavors are community service, teaching, and helping people explore their potential.
