COURSE DESCRIPTION: The world-famous Greenwich Village did not only produce Beatniks and Hippies . The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire took place there and Fiorello LaGuardia was also born there. Alan Ginsberg transformed poetry there and the Stonewall Uprising ignited a new liberation movement there. The history of modern America cannot be written without returning to this important neighborhood known for its tolerance of nonconformist attitudes and radical thinking. Ronelle, a Villager for 23 years, will use segments of films, music and photos to create the most entertaining and thought provoking Greenwich Village "tour."

BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION: Ronelle Delmont was born on the Lower-East-Side of NYC and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn. She attended Hunter College as a music major and received a BS from Florida International University in International Relations. Her eclectic background includes: owning an antique shop in Greenwich Village: owning an entertainment agency: working for Pan-Am Airlines and lecturing for Osher Lifelong Learning. Since 1996 Delmont has been a book reviewer and lecturer in South Florida. She is currently writing a book on the subject of the Lindbergh baby kidnapping and trial. She is the publisher of an in-depth, controversial website on that subject (www.lindberghkidnappinghoax.com) She is married to Parisian-born singer and agent, Daniel Delmont.
