Originally from Spain, Nuria Godón-Martínez holds a Ph.D in Spanish from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She specializes in 19th - 21st century Spanish peninsular literature, film, and culture. Currently, Dr. Godón is working on a book project in which she analyzes interactions between literature and emerging psychological theories on sexual deviations in 19th century. Her second line of investigation deals with Cultural and Film Studies. She is interested in the image of the Gypsy in Spanish Republican films. Also, Dr. Godón's fascination with interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary fields inspired her in co-founding Transitions: Journal of Franco-Iberian Studies as one of its co-editors.
