Florida Collegiate Honors Council Conference 2014

February 14-16, 2014

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT PROPOSAL IS TUESDAY, JANUARY 7th BY MIDNIGHT


Honors College students

Showcase your research, or enter a writing contest, as part of the 2014 Florida Collegiate Honors Council Conference, held at the Hillsborough Community College.
Members of the Florida Collegiate Honors Council are invited to explore a variety of topics and applications across disciplines using examples of academics, leadership, and service.  Students and faculty are encouraged to relate their honors experiences by presenting scholarly work to attendees in sessions or through poster representations.  Everyone is invited to share the honors experience through scholarship, leadership, and stewardship.

Please fill out the WHC Florida Collegiate Honors Council Presentation Proposal Form in addition to your registration for the conference. 

All submissions must have your advisor's approval prior to entry.

 

Writing Contest - Internal Deadline is Friday, December 6, 2013 at 5 pm

The Writing Contest is hosted by the Florida Collegiate Honors Council and has cash awards of $50-$200. The internal deadline for submission is Friday, December 6th at 5 pm. The categories are documented research or critical thinking (freshman/sophomore, junior/senior), poetry, and fiction. Entries must strictly adhere to the Contest guidelines or they will not be considered. Please review the 2014 FCHC Writing Contest guidelines for details. E-mail your submission as an attached Word document to Dr. Mark Tunick by Friday, December 6th at 5 pm. In your email you must include:

  1. Your name, email, telephone number and address;
  2. The category in which you are submitting;
  3. The submission title;
  4. A statement indicating you agree to the conditions of the writing contest.

Incomplete or late entries cannot be considered. Submissions must have no grammatical errors.

The top three papers in each category will be selected by a faculty committee and submitted to the FCHC contest judges. Winners must attend the awards ceremony during the Florida Collegiate Honors Conference.
