The Six Dimensions of Wellness
Wellness is much more than the absence of illness. In fact, there are six dimensions of wellness that are interconnected and focused on ensuring your healthy body, mind, and spirit. These wellness dimensions include Physical Wellness, Social Wellness, Occupational Wellness, Intellectual Wellness, Emotional Wellness, and Spiritual Wellness. Living "well" means taking steps and engaging in thoughtful processes to address each dimension.

The Healthy Owls Team developed the "Wellness Wave" to demonstrate FAU's interdisciplinary approach to wellness. No particular dimension of wellness is more important or more valuable than another. Ideally, one should devote time and effort to developing each wellness dimension to create a healthy mind, body, and spirit.
